« Personal Work - Photographing Musicians »

I don't normally photograph concerts or shows, but every once in a while it's something fun and different to do.  The images below are from a show at the Rock and Roll Hotel in DC at the end of December.  My friend Curren, from the Corcoran, asked me to photograph a holiday show that her band was playing.

The lighting was a little on the harsh side, all the lights on the front of the stage were a deep yellow and red, and in the back were a bright blue.  The best way to correct the images was to convert them to black and white in Lightroom.  I've also been very impressed with the new noise reduction capabilities in the new Lightroom 3.  The better noise reduction alone was worth the upgrade costs.

This last picture is just a self portrait I shot between acts at the Rock and Roll Hotel.
